Some of the scenarios that can lead to data loss or corruption include:

  • The effects of malware (viruses, ransomware, trojans, etc.)
  • Physical damage via dropping, etc.
  • Power surges
  • Equipment malfunction
  • Water damage
  • Fire

Sometimes data can become corrupted for no obvious reason. Whatever the cause, contact Limbtec for prompt assistance.

Any Format, Device and Operating System

Whatever form your lost data is in, from simple document and image files to more complex structures such as databases and executable programs, we are often able to find and restore it.
We can recover data from many different types of systems and removable media including servers, computer hard drives, SSDs, flash drives and cloud storage. We are experienced with all types of operating system (e.g. Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.) and can often resolve common problems which lead to missing or corrupted data on these systems.

Preparing for Data Recovery

Losing important data can leave you feeling helpless but there are some steps you can take which may reduce the severity and spread of the problem.

First, the affected device should be turned off, especially if you hear any unusual noises. Continuing to run the device may cause further physical damage and data loss.

If the device has been affected by exposure to water, attempting to dry it can make the problem worse. Instead, you should keep the device as still as possible, wrap it in a damp towel and store it in a static-free bag until we have had a chance to inspect it.

Finally, prevention is always better than cure. Always ensure you have a robust backup
