We’re seeking a proactive Field Server IT Technician to support clients in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with field-based customer support.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers (physical & virtual)
  • Provide on-site and remote support to a diverse client base
  • Troubleshoot network issues, including switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Perform system updates, backups, and patching
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects and IT upgrades
  • Document site visits and technical work clearly

What You’ll Need

  • 2+ years in a similar IT support/field tech role
  • Experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Familiarity with VMware/Hyper-V
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first approach
  • Current Enhanced DBS, or be willing to complete one.

💡 Nice to Have

  • Certifications (CompTIA Server+, MCSA, CCNA)
  • Exposure to Office 365, Azure, and cloud infrastructure
  • Knowledge of backup and monitoring tools
