Limbtec provides a secure data destruction service for businesses. This is carried out at our workshop so that we can ensure that your devices are thoroughly erased and tested before we issue a certificate of destruction.
For £40+VAT we will arrange to pick up your device/s from any Plymouth address, erase the data and either return the device/s to you or arrange for their secure and legal disposal. In some cases we may even be able to pay something for parts.
Why Data Destruction Matters
Professional data destruction protects businesses from having sensitive customer data or company information accidentally revealed, or deliberately recovered.
Some of the risks with old devices include:
- Somebody finding stored information on a donated PC and using it, selling it or publicising it in the newspapers.
- The hard drive of a recycled device being recovered by a hacker or competitor and deleted information recovered using specialist tools.
As a business owner, you will want to know that when your device and data is gone it’s gone. Limbtec’s data destruction service can give you that peace of mind.
Do you Have a Data Destruction Policy?
In the wake of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), all businesses should have a formal Data Destruction Policy. This could form part of an overall Data Protection Policy.
This is for two main reasons: First, the fines for a data breach have been significantly increased. Leaked data could now destroy a business overnight. Second, all people now have the right to ask for their personal data to be destroyed on request. Businesses need to have a policy in place to evidence their compliance.
A Data Destruction Policy needn’t be complicated. In fact, it should be simple and easy to follow for all employees.
Make sure your policy includes:
- What type of data you store.
- Where you store it.
- How long you store it for (data should only be stored for as long as it is needed)
- How you securely destroy it.
Include all company devices in your policy, including mobile phones and tablets, PCs,
